New Efficiency Standards for Residential Furnaces from the Department of Energy:
Recently the U.S. Department of Energy passed new efficiency standards for residential furnaces in the northern half of the United States. After May 1, 2013, all new residential furnaces must have a minimum efficiency of 90%. These new standards affect all non-weatherized furnaces less than 225,000 input BTU's. This includes mobile home furnaces.
If you have been considering the replacement of your existing furnace, now is the time to act. 80% efficient furnaces are more affordable than the higher efficiency ones. However, it would need to be installed soon. After May 1, 2013, you will have no choice but to install a more expensive high efficiency furnace. Please call us at (269)429-9261 for a free estimate.
